Absente 55 Absinthe

Distilleries et Domaines de Provence Absente 55 Absinthe was the first of its kind to be legalised in France where it has been produced since 1915.

This ‘Green Fairy’ spirit is created using the classic wormwood plant. Absente is issued from the distillation of Artemisia absinthium associated with the subtle blending of alcohol, mugwort infusion, star anise essence, balm, peppermint and anise distillates. With its limpid and bright colour, Absente was the first legal absinthe liqueur containing thuyone launched in 1998. Made with real wormwood.

Tasting Notes

Clear, beautiful light green with glistening glints of yellow. On the nose there is a subtle bouquet of absinthe with anise, mint and spices. The palate is well structured with a well rounded aniseed taste with the presence of amoise, lemon balm and mint with a full length of flavour on the finish.
