Cabalié

Cabalié is a classically ripe-tasting Catalan red, made following the centuries-old style beloved by the Roman centurions who were the first to make wine here. Comprising 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 10% Carignan, we source the grapes from old vines of fifty years and more, which yield small volumes of deeply-coloured, concentrated juice. Their wine is intensely flavoured, with herb-scented raspberry, blackberry, and swert strawberry in abundance. The finish is long, rich and smooth-textured. Cabalié needs no ceremony, just big glasses to swirl the wine and transport yourself to the rugged hillside vineyards of my region.
