Lightfoot & Wolfville Fauna

Fauna is a fruit-driven, unoaked red blend with a bright, berried lushness and a lightness in structure indicative of our ultra cool-climate in Nova Scotia. A partial carbonic maceration contributes amplified fruit flavours, velvety texture and immediate drinkability.

Deep violet hue in the glass. Perfumed aromatics of blueberry, ripe plum and fresh sage lift from the glass, layered with subtle earthy undertones of anise and forest floor. The palate is juicy and vibrant, offering a balance of cool blue fruit and dark berry flavours with silky tannins and a fresh, elegant finish.

Best served slightly chilled. This vibrant, fruit-forward red pairs well with a range of flavourful dishes - think coq au vin, butter chicken, or lamb tagine. It complements roasted root vegetables such as sweet potato or butternut squash, as well as herb-laced mushroom dishes and grilled sausages with caramelized onions.
