Port of Leith Distillery - Oloroso Sherry

Like Port of Leith, many whisky fans adore whiskies that have been matured in ex-Sherry casks. So Port of Leith thought we'd talk about the sherry. 

Sourced from Bodegas Baron, a 480 year old producer with a very modern outlook, the un-matured version of this Oloroso wine will be used to season our oak casks in Sanlúcar de Barrameda, in the heart of Jerez in South West Spain, before Port of Leith ship them to Scotland to fill them with whisky.

Tasting Notes

This Oloroso is bursting with dried fruits and complex oak, balanced with sweetness and hints of spice, so Port of Leith thought it should be savoured and enjoyed while we wait for their whisky.
